Hello All, great site, I have been looking around and reading here for quite awhile and have now come upon my own problem that I just cant figure out, so I figured the brains here could resolve it easily.
I have been using TMpgenc to make svcds for quite awhile, I make them svcd for the higher quality and my buddys player will play them, mine on the other hand ( sony) wont, so I use the vcd header trick I learned here to make them play on mine. (have done quite a few and all burn and play fine)
Now heres my problem, Recently encoded movie, all went well, burn original in svcd format (using nero 5.5) for my buddy(his burned and plays fine). then make file using header trick for me. When I go to burn this file in Nero, it keeps telling me that my Cdr's dont have enough room on them.
Both files, tricked and not will play on my computer.
When I look at the files, original is 754 mb, header trick one is 755 mb
both well within the cdrs file range. ( I am using Imation 700mb 80min CD-R's) Any ideas? I know there must be something simple I am missing, any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

your files are just too big...
Maybe you should try cutting and pasting some peaces together...
OR you could try another trick...
In stead of selecting SVCD in nero, select regular VCD. The quality of the image will be exactly the same BUT the audio will be slightly less(theoraticly, i don't notice any difference).
You will save space on the AUDIO, cuz SVCDs have 2 Audio tracks, while a VCD only has one
But, i suggest you go for the cutting and pasting part... A 80 MinCd can only carrey a 700Mb file...
(74Min = 650Mb) -
Thanks for the input, but as stated I have burned the other file (svcd not using header trick) already, and 80 min 700mb cdrs will fit 800mb of video. Just dont know why the other version I made doing simple multiplex header trick wont burn??
