  1. Hi,

I have been totrally unable to create a VCD of any type that will play in my standalone player without slipping audio sync (plays fine in PC and will come back into sync after pressing pause).

I have a PAL VCD (original) of Back to the Future that I bought - this plays with absolutely no problem. Is there any software out there that will allow me to analyse the working VCD and learn the GOP structure, bitrate etc etc. I will then attempt to create my own VCDs with the same structure.

    Many thanks,

    Gareth

if you use the TMPGEnc VCD template - you will have exactly the right structure ..

audio sync issue is not releated to GOP format (unless you mucked w/ the standard vcd setting) ..

  3. Hi,

I have tried the tmpenc template. I still have an audio sync issue. My VCDs are absolutely fine in a PC and they come back into sync if I press pause on my standalon player (aiwa). If I watch a movie from beginning to end - by 1 hour in, the audio is about 1/2 second out.

I have tried everything.... Someone before suggested that the GOP may be to blame.

    Thanks,

    Gareth

  4. This happen on my friend DVD player too.

It's just the DVD player, it will play originals fine, but anything on a CD-R is hates.

Best you go buy a new one, and test it out in the shop, i had to test 2 DVD players before i fond one that actually play everthing i wanted it to.
and don't just think it will work cos that it says it will play a vcd on the box, cos that ain't true.
