  1. i'm sortof a newbie at this i have been ripping with smart ripper, then dvd2avi then encode with tmpgenc burning with nero until now i have had no drama's as such and have been very happy with the results.
    i recently wiped my pc for a clean up and put on tmpgenc 2.58 and am now having truoubles but i think it is me not tmpgenc.
    i have 8 dvd's straight from bali they are screeners and i wish to put them to vcd but S/ripper says no aspi then it rips, dvd2avi works ok then i get all sorts of probs in tmpgenc one movies d2v file wont be recognised in tmp and another worked but the picture (after twice normal encoding time) looks like dog spew (literally) i normally rip according to sefy's newbie guide and have had great success, i want thiss sucess back can some one pls help??

    as for the d2v file not reconised, this is due to a registary key not being set to the corect directory.
    First, make sure that "DVD2AVI.exe", "DVD2AVI.ini" and "DVD2AVI.vfp" are all in the same directory togeather.
    now, click your START button and click "RUN..."
    Type in "Regedit" and press enter
    now navagate to.......
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VFPlugin\
    doubble click the DVD2AVI setting and change it to the correct path.
    If there is no DVD2AVI setting, right-click in the right panel and choose NEW>STRING VALUE, name it DVD2AVI and make the value the path to your dvd2avi folder (eg C:\Program files\DVD2AVI\DVD2AVI.vfp

    hope this solves your problem.
