    In my case, the purpose is to have all of the Movies or Shows that we watch constantly instantly available.

    There are about 5 movies that my wife will put on when she's ready for bed, they knock her right out. I have about 15-20 movies that I like to watch while I'm working on my PC or just surfing the net.

    Having all of these, + anything else that we might want available, on a video server is nice. I woun't have to find then load a DVD, I'll just choose the movie from the list and it plays.
