  1. I have just made my first DiVx Avi clip using Flask Mpeg, and it plays well on Windows Media PLayer. However, I have now tried to convert this DiVx Avi to a compliant SVCD format (using TMPGEnc), and when I try to burn the finished clip using Roxios' Video CD Creator (Version 5.1), it comes up with an alert stating that it will not work in a VCD or SVCD stand alone player.

These are the file properties of the DiVx Video clip I'm trying to convert to SVCD compliant format:

    Video: 576 x 432, 24 Bits, 49319 Frames, 25.000 Frames/Sec, 165 KB/Sec, DIVXMPG4 V3

    Audio: MPEG Layer-3,128 kBit/s, 48,000 Hz, Stereo

Do these settings indicate incompatibility for conversion to SVCD? I've tried to fix the file using VirtualDUB & mpegpROPERTIES - still won't burn to C.D. as a self executing SVCD file on a stand alone SVCD player.

    Can you help????

You should use TMPG/CCE/LSX or some other external encoder to make your SVCD.

  3. I am already using TMPG and it doesn't do the job. As soon as I try burning the SVCD file using Easy CD Creator, it spouts out a whack of errors, big red crosses next to the Audio and video settings, stating they will not work on a VCD hardware player.

I don't even know how to fix this as I don't know what the problem is.

The only thing that comes to mind is that my DiVx Avi clip is simply not compatible. I've even tried changing the screen size to 480 x 480 and others - nothing!!

You do realize that EZCD can't burn SVCD??

  5. Actually, I've just figured that out after spending hours trying to do so. But thanks anyway.

Do you know of any free software available to burn SVCD. I've just paid out for Easy CD Creator, don't fancy spending even more.
