I currently am running my stock Compaq Nvidia Vanta, 16mb, graphics card, and I believe it is beginning to give me problems. I am looking at staying conservative, due to past problems dealing with graphics cards, going with probably an Nvidia GeForce 400 64mb card. How much effect will my choice of graphics cards have on my editing?
I will be downloading and outputting using my Canopus ADVC100, and will be using Ulead Video Studio 6.0, mostly vhs in and out, also some vcd conversion..
My system: Compaq Presario, 900mz Athlon, 512 mb ram, 80gb Western Digital 7200 rpm ata 100 drive (dedicated to video), 20 gb main system drive.

You got the same graphic card on my computer, only that mine is much slower than yours (PIII-550). So I don't think it's a big problem, if you're going to deal with VHS capture. You only need to capture at 480x480 or 352x480, which my computer can handle.
