  1. I've purchases the MainConcept Standalone Encoder (version 1.1)
and have had problems with synchronization of audio. I have
an mpeg2 file created from my ATI AIW Radeon 7500 video
capture card from live TV. It plays fine, but when I reencode
it with MainConcept, the sound gradually gets out of sync (delays)
by about 1-1.5 second per hour. I can't find any parameters to
prevent this from happening. I'm converting the sound from 44kHz
to 48kHz in the reencode. Any suggestions?

  2. I had this problem and I solved by using TMPGEnc. That's probably not much help but that was my solution...

  3. I've done the same, but thought there might be a way
for the MainConcept encoder to work, too. TMPGenc
works fine on the same files that the MainConcept encoder
fails on. It is slower doing the conversion, but apparently more accurate.
    (Cheaper, too).

  4. I ran into a problem encodiing AVI DV type 1 files with the stand-alone MainConcept Encoder V1.1. There was a subtile slow down in the video at different places in the clip. The video was short and there was loss in sync. On long videos there very well could be a loss of audio syn and this might be your problem. You can read about it in the thread:
