    i am trying to capture with virtual dub but in the capture avi screen i can not select any codecs from the compression menu option but in the virtual dub startup screen in the compression option there i have 15 codecs approx.

    any ideas please answer

    the compression options are based on the pixel format that your cap card is set to. Check video/format good values are YUV,YUY2,UYVY, and as a last resort RGB24.
