When trying to encode a VCD in TMPGenc, frameserving an .m2v via AVISynth) I end up with really bad color. Blotchy, grainy, faces are yellow with blotches of pink, everything has a greenish overtone, light sources have graduated auras around them, etc.

I can't get Panasonic to work; whenever I hit "start encoding" it looks like it's working for a second, then says it's done (but all it has produced is a 0 KB file) then crashes.

Encoding Mpeg1 with CCE doesn't work either; I get bursts of pixel noise/static no matter what settings I attempt to use.

So I really have to find a way to make the color in TMPGenc work. Any suggestions?

BTW--I have also tried Ligos and have the same color issues. Only Panny and CCE give me good color, but Panny simply doesn't work after pressing "Start Encoding" (the only reason I know it gives good color is because the preview option DOES work) and CCE has the other issues as mentioned above. Any suggestions for how to make either of these work are gratefully accepted.

sounds a if you have a codec issue -- i would unreg them all relating to mpeg (may take some sleath effort) and then remove them . then install one only mpeg codec - either powerdvd or windvd or main concept ..

the problem you describe is not related to the encodng app ...

i just noticed you said your encoding vcd (mpeg1) there are even more possibilities for mpeg codec's on your system but windows own will work fine .. you may have to restore that one - though by installing QT it may fix it .
