It is normal for a DivX AVI (MPEG 4) to double in size when converting to a MPEG 1 (VCD)

Using a 1 disk template means your making a XVCD, and the quality is going to drop, how much it will drop will depend on how much your trying to cram onto one disk. If up until now your been converting 90 Min movies, but now have a much longer one, then you need to make the quality much lower to fit it on 1 disk.

Is it worth it ?, disks are so cheap, is the movie worth 2 disks ? good quality, or 1 disk bad quality.

  6. Winny22,

    2 things:

    1) you forgot to "unlock" the settings by loading unlock.mcf that is located in folder called "extra" in templates directory to be able to tweak your settings so that the file fits on 1 disk

    OR

    2) you forgot to choose NON-Standard VCD (XVCD) in the last tab of the Settings window - otherwise TMPGEnc will still encode the movie as if is is standard VCD and the file, therefore, will end up something like 1 gig.

    Hope this helps
