I have burnt a VCD, but when I play it on my Samsung SV-DVD1E, the pictures come out in a diagonal line, as though it is not advancing enough pixels before starting to show the next line of the picture. Any ideas?

  2. burn the VCD again at a lower or speed or check to make sure your DVD player can play VCD's. i'm not sure any of this will work but give it a shot

If you are new to this.
    Don't waste DCR's.
Encode small 5 minute clips on CDRW and test it out on your DVD until you find something that works for you.

What did you use to make the mpeg ? was it compliant ? did you use TMPGEnc and load a VCD template ?
Did you use a good quality disk ?, was the original source good quality ? DVD rip ? Downloaded CAM ?

I used VCD easy on my (compatible, according to the list) DVD player to burn JPEGS onto a Verbatim disc at a speed of 2X. Ihave reburnt the disc several times but have had the same problem time and time again, though I have yet to try single speed, perhaps that would be the next step?

Sorry, when you said VCD, I automatically thought you were making a compliant Movie VCD not a slide show !!
