Every time I try to render a mpeg in studio7 I get the warning an error occured while encoding this file. This flashes up straight away before any encoding begins. I have tried changing the Mpegrender ax file but it still wont work.I also tried re-installing and I could render the test video A day at the zoo to mpeg but when I tried my own dv file no luck and after that it would not even render the test video. Also tried putting a clip from Aday at the zoo on the time line followed by one of my dv clips and it rendered the test video and half of my dv clip to mpeg and bingo the error message came up.
Anybody else had this problem.

I had a bunch of little errors in Studio 7....till I went to their webstite and down loaded newest update...Then a lot of stuff started working right and some settings that I couldn't even access before are now acessable....
I still get a error "has preformed an illegal funct...." about a minute into capturing.....but I ignore it and the program keeps on working. -
Studio 7/8 will only render Type 2 avi files. You will have to convert your files from Type 1 to Type 2. Here is a link that explains the different files http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/tech/stream/vidcap/dvaviP.asp
Hopes this helps. -
Sorry. Forgot to mention. Your avi files must be type 2 before Studio 7/8 will render them to .mpg

Ok ,This is the first time I have had any trouble.I have used tmpeg and Pinnacle Trex to encode for svcd so I think I should be type 2. If not, how do I find out.
