  2. How are you burning your discs? What format are you trying to create: VCD, SVCD, xVCD, etc. You can't just drag and drop a MPEG file on a CDR and have your DVD player read/play it.

What program/template are you using to burn your mpeg files?

I think you need to understand the different formats that videos are in.

Go to the What is section for vcd& svcd and study. There will be a quiz on monday worth 75% of your grade.lol

Also the newbie How to section will be of great help to you.

did you unpack (winrar) it and it was a bin/cue file ?

did you burn the bin/cue file as a image in nero (file ->burn image-> *.* file types -> select cue file -> hit go ) ?

and did you burn the above on a cd-r disk? > NOT a dvd disk ..

burn the bin cue file on a cd-r with nero as i laid it out above ....

and it should work ok in your dvd player

things like vcd and svcd are (even though source was dvd) meant to be burned on a cd-r disk .. ussually a 700mb disk .

if you download movies off the net - there is also a quality thing ..

things like TS, TC , workprint, screener are all vcd (lower quality) but at times some are marked as svcd (screener svcd) ..
svcd dvd-rip is higher quality and ussually almost same as dvd .. there are also dvd-r conversions done which are really good but huge downloads .

stuff like divx and xvid can not be played on a dvd player (standalone) until there are converted to a svcd, vcd or dvd-r format. the quality can be really good on these also .

  13. DSL, Cable, T1, T3, fiber...... If the site is capped at lets say at 15kbs, Do the math. It will take a long time. Any FTP sites I have been to usually are capped so I don't use them.
