Hi all!
I am new to all of this stuff. I am in need of some pointers. I have a vid that I captured with my Matrox RT2500 in mpeg 2. I need to know how to covert it to Divx for compression purposes.
The video I have shot is around 5 gigs and I need it to fit on one cd. From what I understand about Divx is that it is possible to get the compression that I am looking for from it.
Can anyone advise me?![]()

On the left of this page is the CONVERT link. Scroll down to Convier to DivX and select DVD2AVI guide. You will have to adjust as necessary since this guide presumes that you are going to have to rip the mpg off the DVD first, but you can skip that step.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!
I just want to be clear - is it this one that I need:
How to convert to DivX/AVI with DVD2AVI...
Doom9s guides. SVCD to DivX/AVI. Freeware
??
Thanks again! -
Yes, but like I said you will have to adjust the guide to suit your needs as DVD's need to be ripped you don't need to do that. Other items in the guide may need to be modified as appropriate, it should be fairly clear on what need to change.
