  1. I am trying to burn two Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes (in VCD format) onto one CD, to watch in my DVD player. They are each about 42 minutes long, totalling about 84 minutes. Their filesize adds up to about 840 MB or so. I use Nero 5.5 and a hewlitt packard burner. I set Nero to overburn last night, and I burned at 1x, but it gave me buffer underrun errors toward the end of the burning process. I tried the VCD on my DVD player anyway, and the first episode played fine, but the second kept freezing up and eventually stopped playing.

My question is, is there any way I can put two of these episodes with those filesize and length specifications onto one CD, as a VCD? I would rather not try overburning again, as the results were less than desireable both times that I tried that. If I lower the sound quality, will that reduce the filesize enough to burn both of them? Or is it the length of the clips that determines how much can go on a VCD? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

For that MPEG, I'd use 90 min CD-R media, that ought to swallow it whole. There's no way to squeeze it onto an 80 min CD-R. Tweaking audio bitrate doesn't help much, but try 128 kbps audio and then lower the video bitrate until U get the end result below 800 MB (use a bitrate calculator).
KWAG's VCD template usually fit 100 min's of VCD on a regular 80 min CD-R, so you might try one of those!

    Thanks for the reply.
Where can I buy 90 minute CD-Rs? I haven't seen any in stores. Also, I hear they can harm the burner and DVD player... is this true?

I think I will try the KWAG template. Do you know of any tutorials anywhere explaining how to use it? Thanks!

Try http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/index.html - I've used their 99 minute cds with great success on Nero. Prices seem pretty reasonable too!
