I was not happy with previous guides quality (extracting the temp
mpg from DVD Workshop while previewing the motion menu) so....
here is my guide for HIGH quality VCD/SVCD menus
Required tools: DVD2AVI,TMPGEnc and an understanding of inserting
mpeg menus into a VCD/SVCD movie (Check out the site for HOW TOs on
this )

STEP1:If you have a really fast computer and lots of time skip this
step and proceed to STEP2.

Open the mpg of your complete movie in VCD Cutter and cut out the
footage you want to be your motion menus and then join all the
clips together. The reason why i do this is..only the video for my chaptors is imported into DVD Workshop
(Otherwise if you take the entire movie into dvdworksop it
will re-encode the WHOLE movie to DVD format and you will have to wait a very long time)

STEP2: Import your chaptors clip into DVD Workshop and make sure to
select the DVD profile. In the edit mode scan through your video and
insert chaptor entry pionts and then go to menu and select create
a blank or template menu.
Create your menu (motion thumbnails, motion background etc)

STEP3: Once you a happy with your menu go to the finish step and click
MAKE DISC and select the highest quality dvd. Also only select
Create DVD Folders (which will create vob files) Click START

STEP4: Use DVD2AVI and rip your VIDEO_TS.vob to create a *.*d2v file
and open TMPGEnc open .d2v select a VCD/SVCD template encode and
there you have a HIGH quality motion menu which you can insert into
your VCDS/SVCDS !

Basically the process is just Ripping and Encoding DVD files to VCD
which you/yourself have made
