alright, i just got my capture card working so i could record home videos onto my computer and make small movies. i just made a simple 3 minute flick with one transition effect and then saved it. i used dvd quality capturing at setup. when i opened nero and selected svcd and tried to burn what i'd just made, it said i need a special mpeg2 codec plugin. is this because i choose dvd quality capturing? should i choose mpeg 1 next time?... but if i do, isn't the quality going to be lower? thanks for any advice, peace

i have no probs recording with dallze & burning with nero
the low quality comes from bitrate / size not format

my capture card is a AVerMedia 1394 card. i'm using Video Studio 5.0 to capture with... so where are the options to change bitrate and size? all i've seen are the preset options. what would you say is the best format, bitrate, and size for burning svcd with nero? also, should i download the tmpgenc prog? i've read a couple of post about it, but have no idea what it is and what it does. thanks for the help, peace
