I'm encoding my home video with TMpgenc and Author and Burn it using Ulead DVD Workshop. My DVD burnner is Pioneer A04 (I'm not sure what region it is, but definately not region free). My question is, those DVD-R that I burn will it force to follow the region setting in my DVD burnner? or Is under my own control setting in the authoring software?

  2. The DVD-r(w) disks burnt in a Pioneer A04 do not have any region coding on them. I believe that this burner will not (or cannot) write to the part of the disc that contains the regional coding info. All discs burnt on the Pioneer A04 are region free.

The region coding on the drive is only to limit its ability to playback commercial DVD's, just like a set-top player.

    Hope this helps.
