  1. I've been asking about how to play .cda video format on the forum for about 2months now and still I've got no working solution to how u can play them on the cpu

So far from all my reseach I know from these vcds are:

When you click on d: and look inside it shows .cda audio files *Just like a Music CD*
All the VCD and DVD programmes can't play them ie PowerDVD,MMP,EasyVCD,DirectDVD etc

I've tried to view them on a regular vcd or dvd player those that plugs into ur TV and they work fine. Does anyone in the world knows how to get them to play on ur cpu....

  2. I've never seen it before, but what i'd like to know is, the CDA disc you are trying, is it a regular CD ? can you put it in a regular CD-ROM drive ? have you tried viewing it on another PC ?

  3. Maybe it's got more than one session burned ?
Like cd-extra or something like that.

A session selection tool might help. Failing that, some cd burning software can show/select multiple sessions and extract data.

  4. Yes it is a regular CD and you can put in it a CD-Rom although it acts like a Music CD. And Yes I've tried viewing them on 5 different Cpus before

Imagine yourself puting a Music Cd into ur CD-ROM and click to explore it is the same with this Video CD and 6 others. The situation right now is just like this.

And Yes I've seen it on a regular vcd player and it works fine there but on the cpu it just doesn't... =(

yeah Darkbird where can I get session selection tool?

THese video cds actually came in a box of 10, first 3 are normal vcds with .dat files but the other 7... ahem .cda video... I think this situation is new to vcd world....=)

  5. Like Darkbird mentioned, it could be a Session thing, but I would recommand you try re-installing or updating your ASPI Layer in Windows, that might help as well.

  7. I don't remember the exact link for downloading the ASPI Layer, but you can either search on the web for ForceASPI v1.7, or email me and i'll send it over to you.

  9. Just a thought here...can you find any VideoCD related structures in the filesystem? Such as the folder "MPEGAV"? That will contain the actual video files...it HAS to if it is a standard videoCD that works in your standalone player. Also, you say you tried playing the .cda files in DVD playback software, but did you try just using something like Winamp - a _music_ player? They almost certainly are music files. This implies you have a multisession disc, and if the the audio CD session is the _first_ session on the disc, it may not show the other sessions normally. This may be similar to the problem most audio CD players have when the audio tracks are in a session OTHER than the first session.

  14. Most CD burning software can show you all the tracks/sessions on a CD, so you can at least figure out if that's your problem.
