I want to use DVDx to rip a DVD to divx, but i can only use this compression mode called VDOnetVDOWave and with this mode the picture looks like awfull.
Can someone help please.

Look at the left panel on this page under "Other". Find "LINKS" and click on it.
Find the divx sites to download the divx drivers and install them. After that try DVDx again and you will now be able to choose the Divx drivers to compress your avi.
Don't forget to use the configure option after you select it so that you can choose the best bitrate for size/quality. Doing some sample tests 5 to 10 minutes should help you decide which settings are best for you.There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway. -
Sorry I should have said "TOOLS" not "LINKS" although both will eventually get you the files. The divx codecs and others are located under tools.
