  1. Okay I am a newbie at this (Posted on the other forum, I should have looked closer

    I followed the DVD2SVCD guide to a T.

And I have had some success! However, there is an avi file that stumps me. It has 5 sound channels, and it won't allow for sound processing (only direct streaming) (in the DVD2SVCD app)... and when i play the avi file it is muted! Did I do something wrong or a way to get around with this?

    Thanks!

This AVI, where did you get it from ? did you download it ?.
It has AC3, TMPGEnc should handle that just fine. Vdub will also let you save the audio out if you wish to process it further.

Having the AC3 codec installed will allow you to edit

    Also see Vdub AC3

  3. Lastblade,

don't use tmpgenc (aka select "do not process video under DVD2SVCD")
as this will at best give poor results - at worst nothing at all

load up the avi in V.dub and test if you can save a wav. Let it
save the wav for a few sec's then open it up in any sound editor
like coolwave (free demo online) to see what it is. Chances
are is that it is an ac3 so you can use HeadAc3 (free demo online)
to convert to a 44.1Hkz wav suitable for SVCD in seconds. Then
remux the audio and video back together in v.dub and restart
DVD2SVCD on the newly muxed AVI.

    Luck
