Does anyone know when ffMpeg the program behind majors wrapper will be updated ? And, is it that program that causes the audio sync problems ?

  4. Absolutely. And a new version of the GUI is almost ready.

    Major,

I am curious about 2 things.

    1) Will the new version address the out of sync issue for the audio ?
    2) Have you ever used ffMpeg to successfully convert a DVD into a VCD with no sync issues ?

  6. 1) Hopefully each version will get better. The sync issue has multiple reasons. Some aren't easy to get fixed and even PC encoders have the same issues.
    2) Yes

    Major,

What are the multiple reasons ?

    And

Which DVD did you successfully convert ?

  8. Well, the sync issues I am having (DivX to VCD) appear related to the fact that ffmpeg cannot transcode into different framerates by adding or dropping frames. TMPGenc can do this, but ffmpeg can't. So your video will be running fast (if you go from NTSC Film to NTSC Video like I have to) while the audio is still the right speed (it isn't dependant on framerate, but rather samplerate, which you can muck up as well)
Slaughtering the competition with amatuer-quality VCD authoring abilities... fear my non-l33t skillz.
