  1. I am using Pinoeer DV333 with a projection TV
    with Component Video input.

I can see the interlace artifact on many DVD movie.

If I change to a progressive scan DVD player,
does the problem go away ?

Do I need to buy a HD TV to work with progressive scan player ?

Projection does not necessarly mean progressive.

HDTV sets do appear to all accept progressive input.

    To see progressive you need

    1) A HDTV or progressive ready set that can upconvert 480i to 480p
    2) A HDTV or progressive ready set and a progressive DVD player.

    Yes, they quality is stunning.

  3. I don't remember that there is setting for 480i vs 480p
    in TV setup menu.

Do the TV auto detect the two modes ?

The TV resolution is the same in both 480i and 480p,
the picture quality should be the same, except when there
    is fast moving scence.

DVD is actuall 740 lines, is any DVD and TV combination support
    740 lines ? ( I saw some TV boost 800 lines resolution )

    Please comment.

You need to do more research, but to clarify.

DVD resolution != TV resolution. Something I learned quite a while ago ( through a massive flame war ) "lines of resolution" does not mean anything like what a computer person might think. A quick google of "lines of resolution" will help you figure out what it really means.

480i = Standard NTSC interlaced video
480p = Double NTSC scanrate and progressive.

Most HDTV's are progressive NATIVLY, and upconvert 480i to 480p or greater.
