  1. Is there a way to burn multiple VCD's on to a DVD-R. For example I want to put like 3 VCD movies which are each about 1.2gb in size onto 1 dvd-r media and be able to access each one individually with my stand-alone DVD player? the DVD player is an Apex AD5131

    Thanks

convert the audio from 44.1khz to 48khz then just burn it onto a dvd. Plays normal.

  3. I understand that has to be done for the DVD to handle the audio. But then how would I get to pick which VCD I want to play? If I have to author it what is the best software for this?

Nero is easy, there are others out there too. Basically, a movie is considered a chapter. When one is done, the next one starts. You can browse to each one (previous, next). In nero you can also set up a menu, from there you can pick which you want to watch.

  5. throwingks, PeterP wants to burn his VCD's to DVD, so unless there is a Nero upgrade I do not know about, it cannot author them (tho it can burn them).

There are several DVD authoring packages available. Sonic MyDvd and DVDit are amongst the easiest to use but also the most basic in terms of features. Aslo, unless you get the PE vesrion, they insist on converting the audio to PCM which takes up loads of space, so I wouldn't recomend them.
Many people are happy with the Ulead products, but I don't use them so can't comment. I use Dazzle DVD complete which, for $100, does everything I want it to and does it reasonably well tho with the occasional glitch or even crash. I would still recomend it tho.

So you have a good selection of DVD authoring proggies to choose from. Take your pick after looking at the features each one offers to find the one that is right for you.
