  1. Hi Guys,
I'm looking for some software recommodation with regards to creating DVD.
I have quite a few titles on SVCD which I would like to put onto DVD. I've read the guides and done all the conversions required. I just want to create the DVD files so I can burn them with Nero. I've tried using Ulead Movie Factory and Workshop neither allow import of the files. Which other software can I use?

    Thanks in advanced Andy.

If your files cannot be imported into the Ulead products, then you probably didn't convert the files correctly. What conversions did you do? Even if you want to burn with Nero, you still have to use a DVD authoring program (such as Ulead), so you'll need to make sure your MPG files are correct first.

  3. I followed the guide on this website.

    1) I de-multiplexed the file using TMPGEnc
    2) I converted the audio to 48Khz using TMPGEnc
    3) Using DVD Patcher I changed the Bitrate to 1900000 of my .m2v file
    4) I tried to add the m2v file and Ulead (Movie & Work) gave my the message it wasn't a proper file.

The only bit I think I may have mucked up was the DVD Patcher.

    Regards Andy.

I'm not sure why you're using DVD Patcher, DVD players support the lesser bitrates of VCD/SVCD. After your step two, try multiplexing the file back together and then import that resulting MPG file into Ulead.

  5. You might try this. Dump a dummy AVI into DVD WS as if you were going to author is. Go to the final step and see what options for settings it gives you for rendering. My guess is that if you're compliant with one of those, it should accept the files. By the way I think you will have to remux the video and audio before dumping into DVD WS - I couldn't get it to accept a separate audio stream if I brought in a video only file. TMPGenc has a utility that demuxes and muxes.

From what the previous poster said, you could demux, convert the audio, remux and import into DVD WS without doing anything more. Try that too.
