I wanted to know if there is a way to burn QT player on to a CD that includes a QT movie. I want the viewer to be able to just click on the QT video icon and have it open up in the QT player that I've included on the disk. Basically, I want it to be easy for people to watch the video if they don't have QT player. It's for potential clients and not all of them are computer/internet savvy enough to download the free QT player.
thanks,
Don

I don't think it is possible.
The VCD format is pretty strict especially on a mac...
You should just give it to them on a CD, floppy or email..
Sorry I couldn't help

Sorry everyone. I guess I wasn't too clear.
I am not trying to make a VCD. I wanted to burn a Quicktime movie on to a CD and give it to potential clients to view. They would open up the CD on their desktop and click on the QT movie file.
The problem is some people do not have QT player and do not want to take the time to download it. I want them to be able to click on the QT movie file and have the movie open up in QT Player.
I know this happens if they have QT player on their computer already, but what can I do if they don't? The only idea I had was to burn a copy of QT player on to the same CD, so when they click on the QT movie file it opens up in the QT player included on the CD.
I've already tried this, but it didn't work. On a PC they can't drag the QT player from the CD on to their desktop and play it. Am I missing something?
Keep in mind that this needs to be very simple on the client's end. Many won't tolerate copying, pasting, downloading, or clicking too many times. These people are used to popping in a VHS tape and pressing play.
Thanks,

If you want this on a Windows PC you should think about encoding the video in MPEG1 or WMF format. MPEG1 is viewable in most if not all current versions of Windows Media Player and WMF certainly is (WMF will produce smaller files but quality tradeoffs). You can even then burn a data disk that will autorun when the disk is inserted. If you want to get really fancy you can author a MPEG1 video, make a VideoCD and also include the autorun file to make it run automatically when placed in a PC and it would work in most DVD players.

My opinion is that if "people" don't know how to copy a simple file they shouldn't be using a computer anyway...but....
On a Mac system, you can make a Stuffit Installer File that will search and install everything in the proper place. Unforunately, installing quicktime requires a restart. Also, I've found that 80% of my stuff doesn't work with the newest version of Quicktime. Double clicking on a movie file brings up a "Converting File" window or a warning that "Quicktime Player Can not be found" even when it is right there. Then I have to do a FILE:OPEN and everything works fine.
Chances are, however, that if they have a Mac they have quicktime. And if they don't have a Mac, then this question is probably in the wrong forum.
My suggestion is to put your quicktime file within a PowerPoint presentation, because even idiots can run PowerPoint. Of course this assumes that they have quicktime (and Powerpoint). Another option is to download or get someone to give you Media Cleaner Light and convert those files into multiple formats like RAM (real audio), or WMF windows media files.
However you are better off putting the stuff on a VHS tape...cater to the lowest common denominator.
