ok, i was needing to adjust my bitrate since a standard svcd wouldnt fit on 2 cd-rs. so i made an xsvcd, since this is the only way to mess with bitrate of an svcd. the output was a terribley small img file that wouldnt even play in vlc, it just had scrambled green shaded video. any idea what the hell is goin on? what did i do wrong? i didnt change any other settings besides the bitrate. if im correct, svcd always has a bitrate of 2500 and its unchangable, so i went to xsvcd so i could adjust it to 2070. it should produce a file probly around 650-700 MB or so but instead it makes a .img around 200 MB! anyone have any idea what to do? im so confused...

also, as a different note- my input .mov says it has a fps of 23.77 in QT, but ffmpegx doesnt seem to let me change the fps to sumthin other than a default without getting errors in terminal. should i just set it to NTSC FILM (23.976), will it affect it much? any ideas?

  2. When encoding to mpeg-2 only the three standard framerates are allowed.
About the other problem, could you copy and paste the first screenful of the mpeg2enc terminal output?

  4. What is your input file and it has been encoded with which codec? Can you play the input file with Quicktime player without any problems?
