  1. i am having problems converting a svcd to a dvd. following a guide i read in this forum i downloaded the software and followed the instructions that came with to try and rip the av sequence off of a svcd and create a file i could them import into dvdsp. i followed all of the instructions and got it to the point where the terminal starts and says the it is opening the pipeline and then it just stops and is doing nothing.

the last message it gives is something about [it looks like a root directory] my computer and them my user name. i am running os 10.2

anybody have a solution to my problem? i'm very frustrated with this whole svcd to dvd and dvd to dvdr thing. all of you make it sound like it is so easy, i have nothing but problems.

    HELP ME PLEASE!

    thanks

what program are you talkin about? MediaPowerTool? and if you are did u install mediapipe 0.8.7 or later first? it wont work unless u do that. i you insatll mediapipe 0.8.7 use MediaPowerTool 0.5.1 and if you install MediaPipe 0.8.7.5 then use MediaPowerTool 0.5.2, if you dont use the correct version of MediaPowerTool with the version of MediaPipe you are running u will never get the svcd video encoding to work.

this is an example of valid output from the program when it reaches the mediapipe stage... this is just mpeg-1->mpeg-1 so if you are trying svcd->dvd ready then the output will look slightly different, but not that much different

    appending File Streamer
    setting PacketSize to 16384
    appending MPEG Decoder
    appending Color Conversion
    appending MPEG Encoder
    setting to
    setting mpeg2enc to -v 0 -f 1 -F 4 -n n -a 2 -b 1152 -r 16 -M 2 -s
    setting ppmtoy4m to -v 0 -S 420_jpeg -L -I t -F 96000:4004 -A 10:11
    starting the pipeline
    Progress: [*.......................................] 0.16%
    Progress: [*.......................................] 0.48%
    Progress: [*.......................................] 0.96%
    Progress: [*.......................................] 1.61%
    Progress: [*.......................................] 2.09%
    Progress: [**......................................] 2.57%
    Progress: [**......................................] 3.05%
    Progress: [**......................................] 3.53%
    Progress: [**......................................] 4.01%
    Progress: [**......................................] 4.33%
    Progress: [**......................................] 4.66%
    Progress: [**......................................] 4.98%
    Progress: [***.....................................] 5.46%
    Progress: [***.....................................] 5.78%

    etc....

so what version of mediapowertool and mediapipe are you using? 0.8.7 with 0.5.1 or 0.8.7.5 with 0.5.2?
