Hi:
I have an ATI AIW 128 Pro in my PC, running on W2k. I have the Video Studio 5 who came with the ATI card and everything worked OK. I was able to capture and change the capture settings without problem.
However, I change the Ulead software to Video Studio 6. Now every time I try to change capture settings from the project template or when I try to capture my system keeps rebooting.
If I use a template e.g. for VCD or VCD, you are able to capture a few clips but when you capture many there will be a moment when the system reboot. However, If you set your capture in MPG2 or with High bitrates the system reboot in your first capture attempt.
I was checking in the Ulead Support but found nothing. Can anyone help me with this problem. I will appreciate it very much.
THX

Hi:
So I have to assume some things here:
1- This one is a real hard to answer
2- This one is a very common problem and does not deserve any time to answer.
3- You are just ignoring me

I am running the ATI AIW 128 Pro with win2k and capturing using the wdm->vfw wrapper. I have capture wdm with Ulead MSP V65. with no problem. Frist remove VS5 and do an uninstall and reinstall of VS6 if you have not done it already. Make sure you delete the ulead.ini file before you do the reinstall. Install VS6 in Administrator mode. Are you using the ATI driver 5.13.01.3279?

Hi:
Lamont: I do have the wdm->vfw wrapper installed.
I first uninstalled the VS5 and then installed the VS6, however, I did not delete any ini file manually (I supoused that this should be done by the uninstall tool). As VS6 was not capturing, Intalled VS5 and have both in my system. So what you tell me to do is uninstall both of them, delete Ulead.ini file manually and reinstall VS6. Is it OK?
Regarding the ATI driver I am not in front of my home computer right now, however, in the ATI site I found that the last driver for ATI AIW 128 Pro is w2kr128513013279, well that's the name of the file. I do not know what is or where to find ATI driver 5.13.01.3279. Is it the same as the one I just downloaded from ATI?
Thanks

Hi:
Excuse for my ignorance, but how do you check which driver are you currently using with your ATI card. I do not know cause the card come installed with the PC.
If I find that it is not the right drive version I will install the new driver. So to install the new driver all I have to do is to execute the file I downloaded.
Will this upgrade my current drivers? No other special procedures?
Thanks a lot for you help!

To see which driver you have installed right click on My Computer, click on Properties, click on device manager, click on the + sign next to display adapters, right click on All in wonder 128 Pro AGP, click on Properties, click on the Driver Tab and about half way down the page you will see
Driver Version: 5.13.1.3279
Before I install the new driver I uninstall the old driver. The W2k drivers for the ATI AIW 128 Pro can be found here:
