  1. Hi, was wondering if anyone had a fix for a mpeg file that i have. Its 450mb, and what happens is it plays the file fine up to the 6minute mark then locks up. When you play the file again, and just skip past that spot in the mpeg the file works fine again to the end of the video (43minutes). When i tried to copy the file to cd (thinking it was a CRC error) it locked up the computer. When trying to copy it to another hard drive it locked the computer. When trying to re-encode the file with TMPG, it encodes to the 6minute mark then it freezes for a few minutes continues, but then the rest of the file is black with no sound for the durration of the video. When i try to demultiplex it locks the computer, and finnaly when using vcdgear it locks the computer... anyone have any ideas.. the video is very important.

    1. it might have a bad frame(s) .. you will need to cut up to the lock point and then cut past it to end and join the two parts together . you will lose some frames ...

you can cut and join using tmpgenc ..

    or
    2. it is corrupted on your drive ... can you open it in dvd2avi ? and save it to another location - scandisk etc ... whatever works ..

worse case - if its an importaint video and since you can play it through (second time) use a vid card with a video out and a capture card and capture it.
