Need help! Having trouble Capturing in Premiere

I'm running Win 2K with dual 1900+ Ath. I capture and export using firewire only. I don't have a "capture card" yet.
Everything was fine . No limit on the amount of video capture.
Untill.....
Just for s..t's and giggles I load in Ulead 6.5
Now when I go to capture in premiere the system locks up after about a minute of capturing. I now have to reboot.
So I remove Ulead but premiere still freezes the computer during capture.
What the hell did I do??? More importantly - how do I fix it?

sounds like ulead installed its own codec (or changed a reg info) .. you might try to remove it or any other ulead drivers in system32 folder or drivers folders ..

then perhaps re-install adobe ...

del all ref to ulead in registry ...

one or more of the above may help ...
