    I'm converting 3 seperate 45min(aprox) .vob's from a mountian bike dvd. Wondering if i should go vcd or divx. would like some opinions on what programs to use and setting to run it at. the vob is 720x480 NTSC 29.97fps

    The question one has to ask is what you intend to do with the finished results. No DVD Player can play DivX files yet and if you distrubute a disc containing this file (for others to play on their pc) you would have to make sure that every one has the same codec. If you choose VCD (mpeg1) its more likely that a standalone DVD player could play it, but most certain that a pc would be able to.

    As for sharpness and high motion scenes it all depends which codec you use in DivX or which bitrates you would use in mpeg1.
