Default Menu Button Highlight problem with DVD Workshop

I have Ulead DVD Workshop 1.2 and have noticed that when you create a main menu with submenus which contain various buttons linked to different chapter segments of a video file, it seems to be random on which chapter button is highlighted on the submenus vs. going to the top left button. For example, I had 4 different submenus and when clicking on the link from the main menu to the first submenu, the left button is selected default when the menu comes up, the second menu, the middle button is. Is there any way to control this? I haven't been able to find a way. Also, when you go back from the submenu to the main menu, various different links are highlighted with no rhyme or reason depending on which submenu you are coming back from.

I just purchased DVD Workshop and am having the exact same problem. It would be great if anyone could give some suggestions...
