I got a new faster server for this main server so I only need one server for the entire site. And everything seems to work better now...no more random crashes.
-
Huh, So much for no problems.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in e:\vcdhelp\www\forum\includes\smtp.php on line 32 -
Could not connect to smtp host : 9 : Bad file descriptor
Got this after I clicked "Submit" was suppose to get the autoload page -
No, my cookie had been eaten, unless it expired since I came here a year ago
Letmeoutforgodsake
I had to use the username and password to get in, cookie was on hard drive dates over a year.
Anyway, back to the problem. This what I want you to do today....
Fix the B*** thing !!
It seams that there is a big delay in the "Submit" to a post, when I click "Submit" it takes forever for the page to show up, but if I click the button twice, I immediately get the warning about double posts, but click the link and can see my new post is there just fine.
So now I have to click twice to speed up the processand this makes it very hard to answer 100 posts in 5 minuets !! and even harder to reply to someone who is giving me grief
One last thing, when are we going to get some moderators in the forum ?, its been over a year since I came here and still there is none
Keep up the good work, your doing a good job and I am sure you will go to heaven -
Fix the B*** thing !!
I dont why it takes ages for you to post...maybe the problem occurs in large topics where the server has to send several notifications email, but I'm working on it.
And we have some moderators... -
Does it take long time to post a new topic also? try in the test forum. I found that it were 50000 email notifications in the database...I willl try to count how many emails that are sent each day.
-
kingjohn: I changed some email settings...let me know if you still have slow submits. And if you like to become a moderator(move, close, edit topics) msg me private...

But If I do this
1, click reply, Page loads in ms (Very fast)
2, type message, click Submit, Submit (Twice)
3, warning about double posts
4, click link in warning page
Page now reloads
Method 2 is very fast, no delays with the warning message, and the post is always successful
Only started when you changes server, maybe other people have noticed it ?, I normally get the pages very fast never had a delay like this before.
Nothing fancy going on ? firewall ? -

Strange...it doesn't even take a second for me to post a new topic or reply so it can't be anything wrong with the server
what browser are you using? -
when exactly did you get this slow posts? must be something that happens after the post have been inserted into the database(like either post notifications email, update the search table or anything) cause it works fine to hit submit twice....if just I could get this error so I could do some tests...
-
anyone else with slow submit posts problems????????????

IE 6, is there any other ? 8) -
No I haven't done anything but try anyway....I cant believe that your avatar image has anything to do with slow post......
-
Funny thing is
at the same time my ISP has increased my bandwidth, they did this without telling anybody. So the sudden boost of speed yesterday may have something to do with this.
Will leave it alone for a few days, then try a AVI in my signature
Oh just one thing while I'm here, if you update your profile ">" is added to your Member status, change anything again and you get another added ">>" and so on. -
Huh, wait until I have edited a few times before you reply
No it was 512 and now 600
