  1. Since im a newbie...im making sure i get this right.

All my videos are already shot using my DV cam. Now, ive downloaded most of them to my harddrive and edited using pinnacle and saved as MPEG.

ummm....at what stage does Huffyuv come in?

you dont need huffyuv in your case -- you have shot to DV .. cap'd in DV , edited in DV and should save to DV ...then encode that DV to VCD ..

i notice you said in another post you saved in mpeg and then re-encoded to vcd (mpeg1) when just introduces a lot more loss of quality .. try to stay in one format untill final encode if at all possable..

  3. Yup, i saved the final work in MPEG1. However it "reduces" in size when i use TMPGEnc to encode it to vcd-friendly format.

a little confuse here - can i actually burn an MPEG ( 1 or 2) directly with NERO to be able to play in my vcd player without using TMPGEnc?

try not to save the final output in mpeg1 and then re-encode that mpeg1 ..

    your options are:

    1. save final in dv and encode in tmpgenc (highest quality)

    2. save final in vcd format and burn in nero. (nero doesnt need to re-encode and you dont need tmpgenc for this method)

    2. save as avi and let nero do the encoding (bad idea, worse quality)
