  1. Hi All

I just created my first SVCD using Pinnacle Studio 7 and Ulead DVD MovieFactory,

I used Pinnacle for capture, editing and then spit out a MPEG-2 compliant file (480X480 res). Then I used Ulead DVD MovieFactory to add titles and then burn the SVCD.

Now when i play this SVCD on my TV through my DVD player (I have a JVC) on some scenes its like the video is dropping. It creates kind of a mosaic effect on certain places on the screen. Also the clarity of the SVCD is not that great

But when i play the MPED output that Pinnacle Studio 7 yielded on my computer it appears very good quality with no video dropping problems.

Is it Ulead that is messing up the quality of the mpeg or Is is something i am not doing right.

Any help on this matter is appreciated...

    Thanx

  2. Using Ulead to "add titles"...

What does this mean? Are you using Ulead to add stuff to the actual video?

If so, it may mean that Ulead is re-encoding your MPEG-2...

Have a look at the video quality of your disc on the PC. Does it look bad as well?

    Regards.

  3. Hi Michael

By Titles i meant i just added menus for the video, thats all

Also i checked both the mpegs, the one created by the Pinnacle 7 and then i also checked the mpeg from the VCD on my computer and they both looked fine

Although i must add that while checking the mped from the SVCD i first copied it to my hdd cause running it from the CD player was kinda slow on my PC.
