  1. I try to convert a divx file (81.07 fps;544 x 244;42 min) to mpeg to burn it as a vcd. The playing time of this movie is about two hours.
When loading Tempgenc with a 25FPS and a bitrate of 1150, the mpeg will be enormous. Adjusting the bitrate helps, but quality will then be poor. Who can help ?

Sorry, that doesn't make sense! 81.07fps is ridiculous!!!

VCD compliant mpegs give 1minute = 10Mbytes. So you can fit 80 mins on a 80min CD. If it is longer, split it accross 2 discs.

If you really must fit 2 hours on one CD, use a bitrate calculator (tools, left of page) to get a bitrate that will fit, with subsequent loss of quality. Alternativly, search these forums for kwags templates to see if you can find one that suits you.

    Hope this helps

  3. It looks like your AVI header information is messed up. You say the movie is about 2 hours long but the AVI info says 42 minutes with a 81.07 fps. I think the actually framerate should be 29.97 fps

    (81.07fps x 42min)/29.97fps = 114 minutes

You should use VirtualDub to fix the framerate first. A 2 hour movie on one disc isn't going to look very good no matter what you do. You best solution is to put it on 2 disc.
