  1. I'm trying to combine 6 MPEG's (approx. 650 MB each) into one DVD+RW and having menus/chapters for interactivity. I plan on using VCDEASY to create a bin file but since the total CD image size is greater than 2GB (Windows 98 file size limitation), does VCDEASY generate multiple bin files to overcome the filesize limitation? If it does, does the cue file contain the instructions for the DVDRW to combine these file to one CD?

  2. VCDEasy (or any VCDImager GUI) does not make DVDs.

  3. I know VCDEASY does not make DVD's. What I'm trying to accomplish is to author a VCD video using a DVD media since it can store more that 700 MB. I have a collection of home movies that I would like to compile into a DVD media.

What I don't know is whether a DVD player can recognize a DVD media as a VCD video? Also, because the total mpeg videos are greater than 2GB does VCDEASY span the bin file into multiple file (akin to Winrar or Winzip files)?

Sorry if I wasn't clear the first post, any help is appreciated.

CUE/BIN format is a CD media image. You cannot burn CUE/BIN CD formats onto a DVD. A DVD is not a CD.

There is NO CD image format that "spans" discs. A CD image format is the digital representation of the bits that will go onto ONE disc.

    Thus, "no" and "no".

If you want to make multiple VCDs, you will have to make each one individually. If use VCDEasy, place the source MPEGs into each project so that it doesn't go over the limit. If you have one file that is very big, then you will have to cut it: http://www.vcdhelp.com/edit.htm

This is for VCDs (and by definition for burning onto CD media) only.

If you want to place "VCD compatible" MPEG-1 files onto a DVD, that can be done. However, you are then making a DVD, not a VCD. The structure of a DVD is completely different to that of a VCD.

You will need a DVD authoring program...: http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcddvdr.htm
