I have an RCA DV camera, and I'm capturing either with Windows Movie Maker or Premiere 6.0. I noticed the codec in use is DVSD, which LSX Encoder says is 9:1 compression. I usually cap in Premiere, and then export to avisynth. Is this costing me video quality because of the codec for capture? I'd like to know how to change the codec to get better quality, if that's even possible.
