THE ONLY WAY WOULD BE TO LOWER THE BITRATE SO 95 MINUTES WOULD FIT ON A 700MB CD BUT AS YOU LOWER THE BITRATE THE QUALITY WILL LOWER ALSO. YOU CHOOSE THE LESSER OF 2 EVILS

  3. But burning a vcd doesnt depend on size and quality, does it? it does depend on the time the mpg lasts i thougt?

Yes there is a way. I've been using KWAG templates for a month now on DVD-rips. Go to http://www.kvcd.net and read some of the forums. I've had up to 116minutes on a single 80min cd. Worth a go.

    Not without breaking the standards.

You could use a 99 minute disk, but there are only a few burners that can use them and even fewer DVDplayers that could play them all the way through.

You could encode to a non-standard template as suggested above or you could cut it into two .mpg files for easy placement on two 74minute or larger disks.

  6. Yes, if you lower the bitrate to say, 900 for 100 minutes or 950 for 85 minutes.. (depending on some other factors..)

I did it and not much loss of quality...and if you want this sort of thing that is what you get. :P

  8. SO you have to convert the mpg in that quality, and then you can burn it on a vcd? But what about nero not accepting such an mpg as a vcd format?

Dear KWAG, I have been ripping and burning as much as 100 minutes on an 80 minute VCD using the ususal Smartripper/DVD2AVI/TMPGEnc/VCDEasy......so now if I donwload your template, what is required? Do I have to convert the audio separately? Can I convert 180 minutes onto an 80 minute CD as you profess?

Please outline instructions in detail...and if it works...YOU are the BEST..
    awaiting your reply....
