  1. hi, i downloaded a couple of movies and now wanted to convert to mpg to watch them on my dvd player. The resolution of the avi's are 320x240 or something like that, i know thats quite bad but can anyone give any advice on what method is the best to convert this type of avi to mpg with best results !!

    look through the how to's on this site.
    they are well written, and if followed, will give you good results(at least as good as your source will allow)

    Video-CD PAL (MPEG-1 352x288 25fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

    Video-CD NTSC (MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

    320x240 why do you think its bad ?

    Load it into TMPGEnc load a VCD template, Next goto Setting > Advanced > Clip Frame

    Experiment with the full screen > keep aspect ratio
