I have no problem playing regular (128kbps and up) MP3s on this machine, but I have a lot of Howard Stern shows ( no comments from you Jackie fans please) that I want to burn and would like to keep the bitrate as low as I can, but still be able to play them on my APEX. Anyone know what the lowest bitrate is that will work? Has to be higher than 32...I've already tried that. TIA!

Whats wrong with burning them at 128kbps dual-channel stereo? You'd be able to fit a little over 10 hours of material onto a 650mb CD (which is 9h59m more than necessary).
hehehe
p.s. Anything lower than 128kbps and you should go mono. I get an incredibly full sound when encoding at 96kbps mono for movies I play back on my work computer. When I played the same movie through my home setup with subwoofer ON, the bass really boomed, moreso than in normal stereo mode. Go figure.

Thanks, but you didn't really address my question. All I need to know is "What is the minimum bitrate an APEX-703 will play?" If I want to play it on my computer I can use what ever bitrate I want.
