If I have an MPEG 2 plugin for one product, can it be used by another ? For example, if I have Adobe Premier with MPEG 2 plugin, can I point Sonic Foundries Video Factory to that plugin to encode in MPEG 2 ? Can I point TMPG ? Or must the plug-ins be developed for that software...

Not as dumb as it sounds because I dont know if these use common API's or they are program specific.

Thanks again...I ask because I need it for Sonic and TMPG but think I only have it in ADOBE ...UGGG

  2. naw, i don't think you can do that. 'tis a perfectly valid question, but no.
basically all the plugin does is hack your .ini or .cfg file to allow those kinds of encodes, so your Premiere mpg2 plugin won't correctly hack your tmpgenc ini.
