IF the movie you are downloading is AVI you CAN NOT priview it untill its completely downloaded.. if its ,mpg ,wmf, etc then just right click on the file as its downloading and click play from the menu.

  4. 1st of all hope you are using Kazaa Lite(gets rid of those nasty Spyware).

Second if its an avi, just rename the dat file to and avi file, make sure to use Divfix to correct the headers and you can watch it, don't use it as a final cause it will have a mess of errors in it, mpegs, just rename to mpg and watch it through windows media player again don't use these files other than for viewing. make sure to copy which file you want to view to another folder 1st.

  5. This is an easy one. I do it all the time. Copy the .DAT file and move it to another folder and then open VIRTUAL DUB and tell it to open that DAT file. You will get a message about it having to rebuild the index file but dont worry, press F5 and it will playback. Works 95% of the time.

    TMPGEnc works better

  7. Virtualdub and TMPGenc are great for this as the messages above suggest, you can also try Videolan (do a search on google).

Virtualdub is good because you can scan the file quickly to see if it's really what you want. Not so smooth operation with AVIs.

It's good to have a few different options to try when doing this, sometimes only one of them will work.
Never give up trying, you're almost always nearly there.

  8. on v/dub it seems to take ages to load up (reconstruct missing index blocks) it runs pretty fast then goes into agressive mode and then takes a lifetime........thanxs

  9. Easiest and quickest way is using TMPGE.

Video Source - Browse > click on "files of type"..all files > open your DAT > File > Preview

  10. The guy also asked how he could have good quality, well, if you search for movies, there is also a part named RESOLUTION, the higher that is, the better the quality is

This is what steps I take to watch a movie AS it is downloading, with WinMX.

I find the file, Right-Click on it, then choose "Properties". Then, I believe
you get a small media viewer window that you can click on play to
watch it as it is coming in.

**Note** You may need quite a system to do this as with mine (See the Computer Profile)
doing this makes my system crash, BUT, I have done it.

    Goodluck!
