  1. Does anyone know what program is best to make your own video file on your computer?

Also once you make your own video....is there anyway you can make a video of STILLS and music together and THEN transfer it onto a digicam through firewire?

If so which program is best for this, and how do you take the movie and put it ON THE DIGITAL CAMERA?

  2. I'd assume you already have a firewire card installed...what software did it come with?

Most NLE softwares (both cheap and expensive) allows you to insert JPGs and maybe other pic formats onto your timeline, thereby creating a video made up of stills. Also, these softwares allow you to replace (or add) audio, by again putting it onto your timeline.

Premiere and Ulead MSP will let you do all that. I'm using the software that came with my card (Canopus EZDV, the software is EZVideo/EZEdit/EZNavi/EZAudio) and they let me do that as well. I've used Pinnacle Studio software way back (with my DC10+ card) and it also has this feature. I believe MGI Videowave also does that.

With that, I would recommend you play with the software that came with your card, as that would probably be the cheapest. If it didn't come with software, you have a bunch of options to choose from, depending on your needs and budget...

And for your last question...of sending the video back to your camcorder...again, these softwares will let you export your timeline back to your camcorder....

    hope this helps.
