no sound after ripping a dvd

i have just bought a Liteon 163d dvd rom drive , and have tryed ripping some dvd`s when i try to play the ripped files back i get a good picture but no sound, i have tryed several dvd rippers and players but still no sound,powerDVD says no audio avaible when i select to show information. can anyone help with this prob?

What are you using to rip?
What files do you get after ripping?

i have used smartriper and cladDVD and dvd decrypter, the files i get after ripping are as follows.

vts_05.dv2
vts_05.idx
vts_05.lst
vts_05_0.ifo
vts_05_1.vob
vts_05_2.vob
vts_05_3.vob
vts_05_4.vob
vts_05_INFO.txt

but when i play it from the dvd disk i get sound but if i play it from my hard drive i get no sound, i have tryed playing it through my sigma Xcard and through powerDVD 4 but still no sound

I think you are maybe ripping the wrong files from the DVD. The movie files usually start "vts_01". And mostly they show up in Explorer as 0.99GB each.
