    How can i encode audio with the mp3-codec "Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Laer-3 Codec" that has got to have a higher quality than 56kbps and more than 22050hz? (for example: in the programm "CDex" i can only set a low quality when i set the encoder to "Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (advanced)"

    How can i get the original mp3-codec to encode mp3s?
    What's the best programm to encode mp3s?

    Well, I am by no means a sound guy. Fraunhofer codec probably isn't free. For encoders or software, you can't get anybetter than CoolEdit or Lame, tooLame. CoolEdit has almost everything you need, except MPEG-1 Layer2.
