MyDVD has shown to be the best software to use to make DVD's, but I'm having a lot of problems with it. I got the sample movies to work fine, and read on any DVD player. But when I try to make DVDs from my own discs, it won't work. First, I tried it with .avi's encoded in divx 5, and it told me it had to convert the file before it burned, so I let it do so overnight. When I checked it in the morning, it was at the same spot it was when I had left it. I read the help file, and it said Divx 5 wasn't supported, even though it also said it supported all .avi's. I converted my .avi to one of the supported codecs, the Indeo 5.1, but the same thing happened. I've downloaded about 20 different pieces of software for converting .avi's to mpeg-2's, and every single one of them either didn't work, or the resulting mpeg-2 had horrible sound or video quality. I guess you can only convert one file so many times before the quality goes to hell. Is there any better way to do this?
