Load the original video into Gold Wave. You can then save whichever audio channel you want.

Take a look through some of my posts, there is something on this using Graphedit, it was used to make an AVI with the English audio, from a AVI that also had German.

In Graphedit, you can delete one of the channels, to output the AVI with the other, can also output just audio by deleting video graph

  4. I tried both programs but can't seem to get both languages extracted. Really frustrating. How do I use Graphedit to extract audio from the avi file?

I had the same problem recently. It should be possible to select either audio stream in Graphedit, yet I could not. I could still select either audio stream in Mediaplayer, so in the end I had to resort to Total Recorder, and capture the desired audio in real time. Not ideal - but it worked. 8)

Ok you need to first load in your AVI, this will show a graph, and included on the left you should have the two audio streams linking through to the finally output (Playback)

You can either delete one of those audio streams and output the AVI with the other, or just delete the video stream and one of the audio streams to output just one audio, repeating to get the other.

Press play for test 1, then delete one of the audio streams and press play again, do this untill your happy with the "Playback"

    1) Use the File->RenderFile option and choose your file

Each graph will be diffrence, so its not possible for me to imagine what yours would look like, below is one I did for a ASF to AVI conversion, from that you can work out what you need to do. Basically the filewriter, and remove of the audio/vidio streams will set the output.

    2) Delete one of the audio streams.

    3) Delete any filters after (but not including) the Windows Media Audio Decoder filter

    4) Delete any filters after (but not including) the ASF ICM Handler filter

    5) Insert a new filter (Graph->InsertFilters) called "AVI Mux" from the DirectShow filters section

    6) Link the ASF ACM Out to XForm In of Windows Media Audio Decoder

    7) Link XForm Out of Windows Media Audio Decoder to Input 1 of AVI Mux

    8) Link ASF ICM Out to Input 2 of AVI Mux.

    9) Insert a new filter called "File writer" from DirectShow section and choose a file name

    10) Link the AVI Out of AVI Mux to the In of your file writer

    11) Right-click the AVI Mux filter and choose Properties

    12) Choose the Full option of the Interleaving section and click OK (this makes the sound and video match up and is the whole point of the AVI format)

    13) Press the play button

    14) Wait until the play button is active again - this means the thing is finished (you can right-click on AVI Mux and look at the Current Position and Duration count to see how far in seconds the conversion has progressed during the conversion)

    Next time I get a AC3 I'll make up a graph

The file I used with Graphedit had dual Spanish/English audio, yet it never showed up in Graphedit. There was just no sign of a second audio stream. Even using the switch option in the Morgan Stream switcher box had no effect. I know it should be as you say, but I wasted hours trying to get it to work. I think it was my first ever failure with Graphedit.

  8. The two audio streams never showed up in Graphedit. Is there any other program that I can use to extract the two audio channels?
