  1. Hi
    Gday
ive being using tmpgenc for sometime now.
Ive downloaded Atlantis the lost city.
I thhink it was ripped from a dvd and into an avi.
Ive split the file..but when i try to encode the file it keeps quitting because it claims something about a illegal floating point decimal order.
What is this all about and can i fix it?

    thanks!

If TMPGEnc freezes or crashes when converting or you receive errors such as
    Unexpected decimal point calculation
Illegal floating decimal point calculation order
Try first to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
Or try to convert the audio to wav before converting.
Or try to repair the AVI,DivX or the ASF.
Or try to use avidefreezer to fix your video source.

Download "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" or try and use the Vdub you already have.
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html

Scan video for junk frames, if it finds any
    Video > direct stream copy
    Audio > direct stream copy
    SAVE AVI

This will save the AVI without the junk frames, that causes TMPGEnc to crash.

vdub-mp3-freeze, does the same think but is more reliable, it makes a log of the junk frames at c:\junkframe.log which can be used to delete the junk frames (At keyframes) starting at the highest blocks first.
